Monumento-Roosevelt LRT trips suspended indefinitely

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is suspending indefinitely its trips from Monumento Station in Caloocan City to Roosevelt Station in Quezon City as it looks into the circumstances that led to the collision of two of its trains last Friday.,inflatable tent These bulbs are environment friendly as it does not emit any poisonous gas while burning neither does it emit heat. Since it seldom requires replacement, these bulbs do not pollute the environment.

LRTA Spokesman Hernando Cabrera said the Monumento-Roosevelt trips were suspended pending the investigation.

He said operations of the LRT 1 were limited to Baclaran in Pasay City to Monumento after two trains sideswiped each other, clogging the railtrack used to maneuver train coaches near Roosevelt Station.

An empty northbound train that left Roosevelt Station at about 10:30 a.m. was about to use the reversing track located across SM North EDSA to maneuver back to the station for a southbound trip when the track jammed, sideswiping another parked train.

“We cannot tell yet when to resume the Monumento-Roosevelt trip because we still don’t know how long the investigation would take,” Cabrera said.

He said that with their investigation, they intend to know if it was human or mechanical error that caused one of their trains to sideswipe the other.

Cabrera said they have to preserve the site by not using the diagonal track to be able to see what really transpired.

After the investigation, he said, a simulation run would have to be done on the track to make sure it is defect-free before it is made available for actual use.
