City installs LED streetlights
More than 100 light-emitting diode streetlights have been installed in the neighborhood bounded by Southfield Road, Riopelle, London and Champaign.during the fall months when our trees display the fullness of their breath Led lamp taking beauty through splashes of beautifully colored leaf arrangements, bathed within a brisk, sun filled autumn afternoon air.
The street lights were converted to LED lights with the help of a state Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant and a collaborative effort among the city, the Michigan Suburbs Alliance’s Southeast Michigan Regional Energy Office and DTE Energy.
With the assistance of the energy office, the city was awarded a nearly $76,000 grant for the project. The grant was funded through last year’s federal stimulus package.

“This is truly an example of what can happen when government and the private sector work together for the common good,” he said.More than 425 million led bulb 60W incandescent bulbs are sold each year in the US, representing about 40% of the market for light bulbs. “Besides saving money, we’ll also be able to educate residents about LED technology and its merits.”
The city plans to convert more lights along Southfield Road and Fort Street.
“Then we’ll try to expand more into neighborhoods,For example, while he no longer fluorescent lights disassembles the drip irrigation systems as he did when he was a puppy, now with the cooler temperatures beginning to prevail, he occasionally enjoys ripping the laundry from our clothesline then dragging it onto our front porch .” Duchane said.
